Bandit Prospect​

Overview

  • Highly folded quartz veins within the shales and sandstones of the Killi Killi Formation
  • Same geological sequence as the Old Pirate and GoldenHind Mineral Deposits

The Bandit Prospect is a distinct topographic ridge locatedparallel to and 1.6km southeast of the Old Pirate Deposit.Mapping of the quartz veins indicates they are associated with the same regionally fold Killi Killi Formation that hosts the Old Pirate and Golden Hind Deposits.

A series of mapped quartz veins are observed sporadically along the length of the topographic ridge over an area of 2kmby 0.3km. The trend is anomalous in gold, molybdenum andarsenic within rock samples with a peak value of 108g/t¹ gold. Visible gold in surface samples has been observed.

Bandit Exploration History

In 2011 Prodigy completed 53 RC holes¹ for 3,561m of drilling, targeting possible mineralisation over 830m of strike extensions to the south and north of the Bandit Prospect. Results include:

  • 5m averaging 3.12g/t Au including 1m averaging 13.25g/t Au from BTRC100002¹​
  • 2.1g/t Au over 1m and 1.2g/t Au over 1m from BTRC100005¹

In 2015 Prodigy completed further RC drilling at Bandit targeting possible mineralisation strike extensions to the south and north of the Bandit Prospect. Results include:

  • 3.84g/t Au over 1m from BTRC100039
  • 5.56g/t Au over 1m from BTAC100017
  • 23.5g/t Au over 1m from BTAC100019²​

2013 rock sampling returned anomalous results with a peak value of 108g/t Au³. Further sampling from trenching of the vein system returned 66.2g/t Au, 62.9g/t Au, 18.85g/t Au and 13.45g/t Au³.

Geophysics indicates structural complexity (faults and folds).  


 

 

Bandit Geology

Bandit is located in N-S trending Killi Killi Formation stratigraphy, east of and on the eastern limb of the Old Pirate antiform. Stratigraphy seems to be near vertical.

Mapping and magnetic data suggest a fold closure to the north, which may be cut by fault(s). This closure is located ~3km to the north, and has no significant geochemical response, although not much Arsenic (As) data is available as a major indicator of potential gold mineralisation in the Tanami.

Mineralisation appears to be associated with fault structures, which are discernible using magnetics. These fault zones are highlighted as zones of magnetic depletion, often with zones of higher magnetic intensity rocks on the eastern side. These zones have a strike direction which is approximately northwest, and therefore similar to fault zones interpreted in the Old Pirate area.

Mineralisation tends to be located in areas of increased vein complexity (N) and where cover depth increases (S).
