Tregony Gold Deposit

Overview

The Tregony Gold Deposit is part of the Tanami North Project and is the second of the key development projects for Prodigy Gold.

The Tregony Deposit is located on EL31331, 25km to the north of the Hyperion Deposit and 45km to the northeast of the multi-million-ounce Groundrush Deposit, which is part of the Central Tanami Project Joint Venture (CTPJV) between Tanami Gold (ASX:TAM) and Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST).

Tregony hosts a total Mineral Resource (including Indicated and Inferred categories) 2.01Mt @ 1.2g/t Au for 80koz¹ using a lower cut-off grade of 0.5g/t Au in Oxide material and 0.6g/t Au in Transition and Fresh material.

This represents an increase in tonnes by 29%, in ounces by 25% and a slight decrease in grade by 3% compared to the previously released Tregony Mineral Resource

Prodigy Gold is planning a further drill program in the up-coming field season to continue to develop this strategically important mineral resource

Prodigy Gold sees the Tregony Deposit as a key development project due to its close proximity to the Hyperion Mineral Resource to the south.

Tregony Exploration History

EL26483 was first granted to Suplejack Pty Ltd a wholly owned subsidiary of Ord River Resources in 2008. Prior to the EL26483 being granted, the deposit fell on SEL8788, a lease that was granted to Paul Messenger and Malcolm Kidd Resources for a three-year period from 5 October 1994. Acacia Resources entered into a joint venture with Messenger and Kidd, Territory Goldfields and Dominion Gold Mining on 25 May 1995. At the end of 1996, Acacia had acquired both Dominion and Territory Gold’s shares in the lease.

At the end of 1999, Acacia Resources was acquired by AngloGold, who were then responsible for all the drilling undertaken at Tregony up to April 2000. In 2002 the new lease, SEL23454, was granted to Suplejack Pty Ltd who began exploring the deposit the following year. In 2004, complete ownership was transferred to Suplejack Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of ASX listed Ord River Resources.

Ord River Resources, and subsequently Vango Mining, continued to explore the project conducting drilling in 2005 and again in 2012, until the decision was made to sell the project to Prodigy Gold in 2015. Ownership was transferred to Prodigy Gold with EL31331 granted in 2018 and final land access granted in 2021. The first hole was drilled into the Tregony Deposit by Prodigy Gold during that year.

During 2023 a total of 36 RC drill holes and one co-funded diamond hole were completed over the Tregony Mineral Resource area with this new drilling instrumental in defining a higher-quality estimation which now includes material in the Indicated resource category. A further 6 holes were completed by Prodigy Gold in 2024.

Tregony Mineral Resources

The Tregony Mineral Resource update incorporates results from the 2023 Tregony drilling campaign. The estimation was completed considering only open pit mining methods.

The Tregony Mineral Resource was reported constrained to a depth from surface of 100m and reported above a 0.6g/t Au cut-off grade. Whilst a previous model was constrained using an optimised pit shell, which was up to 120m in depth, the current Mineral Resource has been determined to a total depth of 100m below surface. The mineralisation continues past this level and is being used to assist the planning of future deeper drilling.

The Tregony Mineral Resource update totals 1.56Mt at 1.3g/t Au for a total of 64koz of gold1 and has been reported in the Indicated and Inferred categories.

Previous studies on the metallurgical recoveries for the deposit have also been reviewed, highlighting that this deposit would be suitable for processing through a conventional carbon-in-leach (“CIL”) processing facility with estimated recoveries of over 95%.

More drilling is planned to look to both, extend and add confidence in the Mineral Resource estimation. There are areas along strike that have previously been poorly drilled that will require follow up drilling to better understand the continuity of mineralisation in these areas.

Tregony Geology and Mineralisation

The Tregony Deposit is located within the Killi Killi Fm (KKFm) of the regional Granites-Tanami Group. The mineralisation style is described as a stacked vein array, striking roughly north south and dipping gently to steeply to the west. The local geology consists of siltstones and sandstones of the KKFm and higher gold grades are noted within quartz veins through the system. The Tregony system is located in the hanging wall of the regional Suplejack Shear Zone (SSZ).

Alteration consists of green chlorite (+/- pyrite) and is controlled by veining and porosity of the surrounding lithology. Foliation controlled alteration is seen in shales as a result of the surrounding veining. Alteration intensity is a function of vein frequency, and ranges from weak to intense. Weak dissemination of pyrite occurs in the non-porous shales and is mostly restricted to thin vein selvedge. Pyrite dissemination increases however within the sandier units and is also functional of veining frequency and intensity.

Most of the veining occurs in tightly packed shales, the alteration is localised to vein selvedge and rarely extends as dissemination into the host rock unless the vein is at the contact between a sandstone and a shale unit. Within the shales, foliation controlled chlorite-pyrite hairline veins occur adjacent and as a result of the thicker quartz-chlorite-pyrite veining.

Tregony Area Potential for Organic Resource Growth

The Tregony Deposit has significant potential for future growth with results released in 2024 highlighting the extension potential for the deposit. Hole TGRC24005, with results of 20m @ 1.3g/t Au1 at a depth of 70m below surface, shows the mineralisation is drilling constrained.

There are also other zones within the Tregony Deposit which have been inadequately drilled using suitable drill types with the long section highlighting the lack of mineralisation between the Tregony and Tregony North lodes having no reported RC or diamond drilling completed. Follow up work to test the structures within these areas to see if the Tregony mineralisation continues through these areas is required.

In many places the mineralisation is limited by the drilled depth, highlighting the requirement for further drilling campaigns to fully test the potential of the deposit.
